I just finished the last of my midterms. They all seemed to go pretty well. Overall, the style is a little different in that they are usually just one big essay part. It seems to be more about the big picture, but you have to be able to support it with the details. For example, in Etnología y Folklore de la Peninsula Ibérico, the exam prompt was, "Write everything you know about a) patrilineal families, or b)gypsy families." This is kind of a trick question; if you choose to write about gypsies, as I did, and you don't know that much about them, the professor can only assume that you know even less about the other topics...
Either way, they're over. I'm heading out on the last bus to Madrid at 9:30 pm. Our flight to Lisbon leaves at 6:10 am. We still aren't sure what exactly we are going to do in the time between...hostal, airport, clubs?? Also, not sure of plans when we get to Lisbon, but it's on the coast, and its the capital of Portugal, so there will be a lot to do. I'll be coming back Monday and I'll have to spend Tuesday writing a ten page paper about the Spanish painter, Velazquez.
Have a good weekend, and make sure the Buckeyes can win this time; there is a large group of Minnesota kids here, so we need to beat 'em!!

not a problem on the Minnesota front. They did put up a good first half, or, OSU put n their normal first half. We were up 7-0 on the mighty gophers at half. Then the third quarter took care of everything. 38-0 at end of third, 38-7 final. It drizzled a little rain at half, then poured for about 10 minutes in third qtr. enough to get good and wet and cold. ahh, football weather.
